The Smithsonian ACM needed a brand that reflected CEJ’s community collective power to craft community-driven solutions that aim to create an equitable future and just environment.
We needed to embark on a creative journey to find a suitable visual identity that only CEJs efforts and mission, but also an identity that reflects a living and breathing multicultural community that seeks to live in a more equitable, healthy, and just environment.
We needed to embark on a creative journey to find a suitable visual identity that only CEJs efforts and mission, but also an identity that reflects a living and breathing multicultural community that seeks to live in a more equitable, healthy, and just environment.
We focused our work on exploring elements that represent the idea of Mother Nature, and found in Tyler Winsor’s WEL Portraits illustrations the inspiration we needed to establish the new brand. We designed and combined visual elements to recreate a narrative of the environment CEJ works to create in Anacostia's river neighboring communities.
